Flat/Disc Crusher

The structure of the crushing chamber in a flat jet mill is simple and easy to manufacture, making it widely applicable. It mainly consists of the crushing chamber, nozzle opening, discharge outlet, airflow outlet, compressed air inlet, and classification zone.

This type of crusher utilizes nozzles installed in the crushing chamber to convert compressed air or superheated steam into high-speed airflow. When materials are fed into the crushing chamber through the feeder, they are subjected to the shearing action of the adjusted airflow. Intense impact and vigorous friction break the granular materials into ultrafine products. Another feature of this jet mill is that the vortex flow generated by the designed nozzle angle not only meets the crushing requirements but also achieves classification due to centrifugal force, allowing ultrafine products to be separated. The particle size of the crushed product is determined by the installation angle of the nozzle and can be easily controlled by adjusting the feed rate.

The main features of the flat jet mill include:

① Suitable for ultrafine crushing of dry and brittle materials (generally with a moisture content of less than 3%), with high impact speeds, making it easy to obtain particles of several micrometers;

② Since the crushing mechanism primarily relies on self-grinding through interactions between particles, the product is less likely to be contaminated by other substances, enabling the production of high-purity ultrafine powders;

③ Depending on the properties of the materials, corresponding lining materials can be selected (mainly around the crushing chamber and in the inlet and outlet pipes), addressing issues caused by hard materials (Mohs hardness not exceeding 9) and materials prone to wall adhesion during crushing;

④ Simple structure with no moving parts; aside from normal wear of the lining, other components generally do not suffer damage;

⑤ The entire crushing process is sealed, with no dust emission;

⑥ Low noise and no vibration;

⑦ Easy disassembly and cleaning, no foundation required;

⑧ Capable of large-scale continuous production with a high degree of automation.
